Terms, privacy & cookies
Simple policies for Field simulator, operated by polycarbonate. Effective September 16, 2026.
Terms of Service
Field simulator is a practice tool. Creating or continuing to use an account requires agreeing to these terms. Keep your password private and use an email address you control. If you cannot legally agree to these terms on your own, involve a parent or guardian.
Play fairly. Do not impersonate others, submit deliberately false scores, abuse other players, attack the service, or upload content you do not have permission to share. Accounts or content that misuse the service may be restricted or removed.
Your username, submitted scores, and equipped appearance can be seen by other players. Robot designs included in public match results can be viewed and copied through the simulator. You keep ownership of your own designs and allow us to store and display them to provide these features.
The simulator is provided as available, without a promise of uninterrupted service or perfect accuracy. Features, scores, and progress may change or be lost. Practice results are not official competition results. Nothing here limits rights that cannot legally be limited.
Season materials and CAD belong to their respective owners. Field simulator is not endorsed by FIRST or AndyMark.
You may stop using the service at any time. If an updated policy requires renewed agreement, we will ask when you next use your account.
Privacy Policy
What we store and why
- Account details: username, email address, a salted password hash (not your readable password), account role, creation date, and sign-in sessions. These let you sign in and let us administer accounts.
- Your play: submitted match results, progress, earned cosmetics, equipped appearance, and cloud robot saves. These power leaderboards, rewards, customization, and saved robots. Online lobbies also temporarily hold player names, inputs, and match state.
- Policy acceptance: the policy version and time you agreed, linked to your account. This keeps us from asking on every visit.
- Technical information: your IP address is used temporarily to limit abusive requests. Hosting services process connection information to deliver and protect the site.
Guests do not need an account for local practice. If you submit a guest score with a driver name, that name and the result are public too. Avoid using a real name or other private information in public names or robot designs.
Who can see it
Player names, published match results (including robot designs), levels, and equipped appearance are public or visible to other players. Email addresses and password hashes are not public. Administrators can access account information to operate the service. Hosting and infrastructure providers, including Fly.io, process data needed to run the site. We may disclose information when required by law.
We do not sell your personal information or use advertising or analytics trackers in the simulator.
How long it stays
Account records, cloud saves, progress, policy acceptance, and published results are kept while the service uses them, unless removed. They do not currently expire automatically. Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days or are revoked when you sign out. Online lobby state is temporary and ends when a lobby closes or the server restarts. Browser settings stay on your device until you change or clear them.
Your choices and requests
You can sign out, practice as a guest, and clear this site’s cookies and browser storage. Clearing browser data does not delete your account or published results.
For questions or requests to access, correct, or delete your account information, contact polycarbonate, the team operating Field simulator. We may need to verify that the account belongs to you.
Where applicable, we process account and gameplay data to provide the service you request, and security and administration data for our legitimate interests in running it safely. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, receive a copy of, or object to or restrict use of your information, and to complain to your local privacy regulator. Acknowledging this notice is not consent to advertising or unrelated use of your data.
